About Artist Miryang Lim

“The world has never stood still. It has always made sound, always swayed in the wind, always moved through every object, and always imagined. It never remains in a fixed, completed form, it changes continuously according to the viewer’s gaze and shifting emotions. In that sense, I seek to engage with the world not through fixed forms, but through paintings that move.

My work began with the wind. Within a flow that is invisible and untouchable, I pursued not the essence but the form. Now, my practice has become movement itself—vitality, inner force. It is no longer an external phenomenon, but the breath of existence itself. The beauty of energy that transcends form—this is the true nature of ‘wind’ that I wish to express.”

“세상은 정지한 적이 없다. 늘 소리를 내었고 늘 바람에 흔들리고 사물마다 운동하며 늘 상상했다. 완성된 형태로 고정되지 않고 보는 사람의 시선에 따라 감정의 변화에 따라 계속해서 형태를 바꾼다. 그러하듯 나는 고정된 형태가 아닌 움직이는 그림으로 세상과 관계하려한다.

나는 바람으로부터 시작했다. 보이지 않고 만질 수 없는 그 흐름 속에서, 본질보다 형태를 쫓았다. 이제 나의 작업은 바람이 아닌 움직임이며 생명력이며 내면의 힘이다. 그것은 더 이상 외부의 현상이 아니라 존재 그 자체의 숨결이다. 형태를 초월한 에너지의 아름다움, 그것이 내가 표현하고자 하는 ‘바람’의 진실이다.”
